How do I find my balance?

Adjustment

.

“Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.”
—Jalal ad-din Muhammad Rumi

Friends -

The Adjustment card, the universal principle of balance and alignment, asks us this question: How do I find my balance?

The Adjustment card follows The Chariot and the lessons learned about only moving forward once you are centered and know where you're headed. (see more below)

Adjustment insists on balance, clarity, and respect for the universal law - nature's laws. The card reminds us about the complicated relationship between cause and effect, background and consequence (e.g., climate change, social justice.)

In Elyn’s Diary, we’re exploring our authenticity looking at the Major Arcana cards. The first eight:

The Fool: What does my heart tell me?

The Magus: How do I tell my truth?

The Priestess: How do I trust my intuition?

The Empress: How do I nurture?

The Emperor: How do I lead?

The Hierophant: Who are my teachers?

The Lovers: How do I love?

The Chariot: What’s my next adventure?

We'll continue to look at each of the 22 Major Arcana cards and some of the questions they invite us to explore. These cards represent universal principles collectively experienced, regardless of our culture or family upbringing, and teach us how, as human beings, we grow, evolve, and deepen.

The climate emergency we're now in is terrifying. As we all work to address the climate change causes and impacts, finding our balance is essential to creating a healthy and just world.

Adjustment (Libra in Venus)

What situations in your daily life throw you off balance? How do you bring yourself back into alignment and harmony?

The storms of life throw us off balance again and again. The constant shift between being centered and uncentered teaches us to mindfully find our inner anchor and begin again.

The Adjustment card reminds us about the complicated relationship between cause and effect, background and consequence (e.g., climate change, social justice.)

Adjustment insists on balance, clarity, and respect for the universal law - nature's laws.

As you explore your truth, you'll discover that things are not as clear-cut as you had thought. So be prepared to dip into the murky waters and explore what truth means to you. Be aware of what you believe to be true and what you believe to be fair and ethical. It may not be as clear-cut as you think, so prepare to challenge yourself and explore new territories of your belief system.

You’re responsible for yourself - you’ll harvest what you now sow. This may be enriching, but it could also be very unpleasant, depending on how you have behaved in the past. If you are confronted with disagreeable consequences and old burdens, you can also take advantage of this opportunity. Straighten up what went wrong in the past so that you have peace in the future.

Focus on what's working for you - in your relationships, activities, and work. Are they leading to the results you want, or could this be a good time to prune back or fertilize particular areas of your life's garden?

There's no need to be harsh. Instead, be both gentle and decisive. Then, with a balanced mind and compassionate heart, you'll know what you need and want to do next.
