How do I tell my truth?

Friends -

How do I tell my truth? The Magus, the universal archetype of human communication, asks us this question.

In the last Elyn's Diary, we looked at The Fool – listening to the voice of our heart and making a courageous leap into the unknown.

The Magus is the next step in our journey. He shows how the creative process - that leap into the unknown - takes something intangible – an idea, burst of inspiration, or concept – and molds it through action, into something tangible. See more about The Magus below.

Over the next few months, we'll look at all the Major Arcana cards and some of the questions they invite us to explore. The 22 cards in the Major Arcana represent universal principles collectively experienced, regardless of our culture or family upbringing. These 22 teachings address how, as human beings, we grow, evolve, and deepen.

The Magus - First Card

The Magus represents the universal principle of communication – communication that is inspired, irrepressible and well-timed. He shows how the creative process takes something intangible – an idea, burst of inspiration, or concept – and molds it through action, into something tangible. He brings all set ideas and judgments into question and communicates with humor and passion.

Often when this card comes up for my clients, they'll say, "Now there's an idea! Why didn't I think of that before?" Of course, you've had that idea buried in your heart and subconscious all along – the Magus merely reveals it to you.

Ten tools surround the Magus – from communication that inspires, or assists finances and practical matters, to accurately communicating one's feelings and hopes. The choice of the methods as to how you express your truth can include (but certainly aren't limited to): speaking, writing, dancing, conducting, programming, painting, ceremony, making music, singing, or healing.

When this card comes up for you, it indicates that this is a time to proceed with confidence and belief in your abilities. The Magus gets what he wants because he knows how to focus his energies.

What methods do you use to communicate? Do those methods serve you? Are there new ways of expression you want to use – and, if so, why aren't you using them now?
